Configuring virtual PBX by Smartswitch administrator¶
This stage is performed by Smartswitch administrator, i.e. by employee of your company which operates Smartswitch.
Requirements.¶
Peers¶
Let's suppose, you have next peers in your setup:
- Originator: telco "DID provider".
Smartswitch is connected with telco with SIP protocol.
IP address of a gateway of telco is 11.22.33.44.
A DID number 12123388100 has been assigned to your company.
- Terminator: VoIP service provider "VoIP termination provider".
He provides us with services of local and international calls.
He uses H323 protocol and his gateway has IP address 55.66.77.88.
- Administrator of VPBX virt001, to which you had assigned DID number 12123388100.
Scenarios¶
Smartswitch is used in following basic scenarios:
- calls from external world
- Caller from external world dials number 12123388100, and this call is routed to telco "DID provider".
- Telco switches this call to your Smartswitch.
- Smartswitch forwards this call to VPBX administrator virt001.
Further handing is performed according to settings which will configure VPBX administrator virt001 (see Configuring virtual PBX by virtual PBX administrator).
- internal calls
- VPBX administrator virt001 dials international number and call is forwarded through VoIP provider.
Billing and balance cut-off¶
Let's suppose we want to have following billing scheme.
Internal calls between users are free.
Outbound calls to local and international numbers are billed for VPBX on price of 1 USD per minute.
VPBX works on prepaid, when balance reaches 0, calls to local and international numbers are blocked.

When done, pass over login and password for web-access to virtual PBX administrator virt001 and he will add users and assign internal extensions for his VPBX by himself through his web-cabinet (see Configuring virtual PBX by virtual PBX administrator).
