Call pickup function is available in every office PBX and is a very convenient mean of optimization.
Call pickup allows to decrease customer waiting on hold, off-load occupied employees and don't miss incoming calls.
Let's investigate in details - what is call pickup and how this feature works.
Let's suppose a call comes into your company's office.
Customer hears greeting message with prompt to dial internal extension of chosen manager.
Customer dials chosen extension and a phone on a desk of employee rings phone, but employee has left for lunch.
Without call pickup option, a device will ring continuously, irritating nearby employees.
Someone among them could leave his work, stand up, come to desk and pick up the phone.
However, usually this doesn't happen, and the call is left unanswered.
With call pickup function this issue is less likely to happen.
Any internal subscriber, included into call pickup group, could answer to a call to any subscriber of the same group.
For this it's enough to pick up the receiver and enter DTMF for call pickup, by default it's *8, and afterwards PBX will connect you with the caller.
