On the basis of *Smartswitch* you can provide [[LNP/MNP information]] dipping service to your customers.
In this case *Smartswitch* will act as *LNP/MNP information supplier* for them.
To fulfill queries from customers *Smartswitch* can:

* perform lookup in local [[LNP/MNP cache]].
* query other LNP/MNP providers through [[HTTP protocol]]

You can connect to several LNP/MNP information providers and perform [[LNP/MNP information]] dipping basing on least cost.
In this case *Smartswitch* will act as *LNP/MNP client*.
In this mode *Smartswitch* could be used for:

* for [[Telephony]] service
* for opaque routing of LNP/MNP queries from your customers to your providers (providing a paid information service of LNP/MNP dipping)
